Where Beauty Meets Medicine
Please can you make sure you have showered the morning of your waxing and have had the opportunity to exfoliate at least the day before. This exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and plump and prep the hairs ready for waxing.
Being hair free is a liberating experience. With regard to intimate waxing, skimpy clothes and underwear can be worn and intimate pleasure is heightened due to the extra sensitivity being hair free offers. There is less irritation to the skin than shaving every day and less risk of ingrowing hairs.
WHEN NOT TO WAX?
Sorry but we can’t wax you if:
You have a contagious skin condition or disease. You must wait to be clear of any conditions before we will be able to wax you.
You have been taking Roaccutane or other acne treatments that may thin the skin.
You have recently been on a sunbed or/and have sun burn to the proposed waxing area. You must wait a few days for any redness to diminish.
Yes, if you have been using Roaccutane you must wait 6 months since you finished your medication before getting waxed.
(A full consultation is taken prior to waxing so we can always discuss any medication or health concerns you have prior to the treatment). All information is strictly confidential.
HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE?
Hair needs to be a minimum of approximately ½ cm in order to wax successfully.
HOW LONG WILL WAXING LAST?
On average, waxing lasts approximately 3-4 weeks and the hair that grows back is often finer and sparser and will continue to become finer and sparser the more treatments you have.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?
We recommend visiting us every 4 to 5 weeks because we can then get your hairs in their growth cycle and you will see great results.
DOES IT HURT?
Yes! But only very briefly as the wax is removed from the area. We use pre and post treatment lotions to help reduce this though.
Waxing is much quicker and comfortable if it’s maintained on a regular basis.
CAN I GET WAXED IF I'M PREGNANT?
All waxing including intimate waxing is normal and not harmful throughout your pregnancy up to due date.
CAN I BE WAXED IF I’M MENSTRUATING?
Yes, you can, you may be a little more sensitive during menstruation.
With intimate waxing you will need to remove your clothing from the waist down in order to get the perfect wax. We use hot wax for these areas. No fabric strips are needed and this process is far kinder to the area.
Intimate Waxing Styles
A vajacial is a lovely treatment that includes a cleanse, exfoliation, extraction, mask and chemical peel to the pubic bone area. This lovely vajacial helps to remove/reduce ingrowing hairs, hyperpigmentation and brightens and smooths our most precious area.
